THE COMPLETE WORKING PRINCIPLE OF ECOBUD AND ITS IMMENSE ADVANTAGES

  • The STP shall be compact, have minimal moving parts, consume very low power, and be odor-free.
  • The first stage of treatment provides for the recovery of biogas while removing over 30-40% of the BOD/COD. The equalization tank shall be utilized for this purpose, obviating the need for a separate tank.
  • The second stage consists of a Submerged Aerobic Fixed Film (SAFF) Bioreactor, which allows for a very high MLSS (high microbial loading rate in a compact space).
  • A natural draft aeration system (Venturi aeration) provides the necessary aeration for the microbial consortia in the fixed film bioreactor.
  • The honeycomb structure of the SAFF Bioreactor provides longer paths for the air bubbles to travel, allowing for very high oxygen transfer between the sewage and the microbial biofilm.
  • This unique feature of the Eco-Bud system enables a very high rate of biodegradation of organic pollutants in the sewage.
  • Another 45-50% of the organic loads are removed in this stage, reducing the power requirement by 30-40%.
  • A turbine blower-based aeration system is provided in the next MBBR stage to remove the remaining organic loads.
  • The blower is a low power-consuming, high-efficiency piece of equipment, and the aeration grid is a non-clog type system.
  • The collection cum equalization tank is used as an anaerobic digester to reduce power requirements and recover biogas and is constructed of RCC and placed below ground level.
  • All other tanks of the STP in RCC can be built below ground as required.
  • A metered dosing system is provided for better control of the dosing rate and to avoid chemical wastage.
  • All electro-mechanical equipment is proposed with standby units. Pumps and blowers shall operate in auto mode through level controllers and timers for easier operation.
  • The system can be run in an ON-OFF mode.
