CEEVIT-A SPECIALIZED MICROENCAPSULATED VITAMIN C FOR AQUACULTURE

C-CEEVIT and Aquaculture:

Pure Vitamin C is unstable and loses stability rapidly when subjected to any form of feed processing. Vitamin C oxidizes quickly when exposed to air and heat. Fish/shrimp require Vitamin C because they cannot synthesize this essential nutrient. While some Vitamin C is obtained from dietary ingredients, supplemental Vitamin C is necessary under certain conditions. When supplementing Vitamin C to fish/shrimp, adjustments must account for losses during feed processing, storage, and leaching into water. For species with short gastrointestinal tracts, microencapsulated Vitamin C offers better bioavailability compared to chemically derived forms due to complete cleavage of phosphate esters, enhancing absorption. Raw Vitamin C is unstable, rapidly oxidizes, and loses potency during processing and storage. Microencapsulated Vitamin C remains intact and stable through feed processing, maintaining bioavailability without leaching into water.

What Makes C CEEVIT the Better Choice:

The choice of Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid) depends on feed processing conditions and species fed. For cold pelleted diets, our 50% Ascorbic Acid, physically stabilized using high-quality microencapsulation technology, is preferred. Enzymes in feed matrices can remove phosphate groups from chemically stabilized ascorbic acid, reducing stability. For steam pelleted diets, both technologies are effective and cost-comparable. However, for species with short intestinal tracts like shrimp, 50% C CEEVIT demonstrates complete bioavailability, unlike competitors’ chemically stabilized Ascorbic Acid, which may suffer incomplete cleavage of phosphate esters, affecting availability. C CEEVIT delivers 50% PURE ASCORBIC ACID with 94% bioavailability. Phosphorylated forms like Stay-C are water-insoluble and resistant to feed processing but have lower bioavailability (35%-40%). Chemically stabilized Ascorbic Acid can destabilize due to humidity, heat, and light during storage, impacting bioavailability. C CEEVIT’s thin coating ensures stability under environmental conditions, maintaining consistent bioavailability. Enzymatic activity in cold pelleted feeds can destabilize products rapidly, affecting nutrient supply to fish/shrimp upon feeding.

INGREDIENTS PERCENTAGE:

  • Ascorbic Acid: 50%
  • Bioavailability: 99.9%

Recommended Aquaculture Dosage: 100 grams per metric ton of feed.

Product Description: C CEEVIT Ascorbic Acid 50% consists of white to off-white fine beadlets. Each gram contains 600 mg of Ascorbic Acid USP in a matrix of non-genetically modified vegetable origin components.

Stability: C CEEVIT Ascorbic Acid 50% is physically and chemically stable when stored in a dry, cool place at controlled room temperatures (50-86°F or 15-30°C). It is heat-stable up to 82°C for ten minutes during steam pelleting, with average stability between 70-75°C.
