BLUE OCEAN SUPER INTENSIVE-CLOSED RACEWAY RECIRCULATING AQUACULTURE SYSTEMS SI-CRRAS (To be Patented) The complete SI-CRRAS Farm design technology and equipment are being patented. For detailed information regarding this super-intensive aquaculture technology, clients must sign an NCNDA cum MOU and enter into a joint venture for any specific aquaculture project. Upon agreement, the company’s technocrats will provide a Detailed Project Report, including all necessary engineering design drawings and equipment details. Techno-Economic Feasibility Reports can also be provided according to client requirements. Generally, these projects are executed on a joint-venture or turnkey basis. A Closed Raceway Recirculating Aquaculture System (CRRAS) by Blue Ocean is a type of closed raceway-RAS that incorporates closed raceways for the cultivation of aquatic organisms, while maintaining a controlled environment through continuous recirculation and water treatment. In a CRRAS, aquatic organisms such as fish or shrimp are raised in large, elongated closed (greenhouse-based) liner ponds or raceways, similar to those used in traditional pond aquaculture, but with the added benefit of continuous recirculation, filtration, and disinfection of water to maintain water quality and optimize production. Closed Raceways RAS: The primary feature of a Blue Ocean-CRRAS is the closed (greenhouse-based) raceways or liner ponds where the aquatic organisms are raised. These liner raceways RAS ponds are rectangular and designed to provide ample space for the organisms to grow and move, unlike traditional closed RAS where small circular tanks are used, wasting a lot of space and water spread area.Recirculation System: Despite being closed, the system incorporates a recirculation loop that continuously pumps and treats water from the raceways. Water is passed through various mechanical and bio-filtration and other treatment components to remove waste products and excess nutrients and maintain water quality before being returned to the raceways.Filtration and Water Treatment: Blue Ocean-CRRAS includes advanced filtration technologies such as mechanical filters, biofilters, protein skimming-foam fractionators, partial or complete bio-floc inoculators, and possibly UV sterilization or ozonation. These components work together to remove solid particles, break down harmful compounds, and promote beneficial bacterial growth.WATER QUALITY MONITORING AND CONTROL: In a Green-housed CRRAS, water quality parameters such as temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH, ammonia, and nitrate levels are closely monitored and controlled to ensure optimal conditions for the aquatic organisms. AI-IOT systems are also utilized.Aeration and Oxygenation: Adequate oxygen levels are crucial for the health of the organisms. Airlifts, diffusers, or oxygen injection systems are employed to maintain dissolved oxygen levels in the water.Stocking Density and Growth: CRRAS systems often allow for higher stocking densities compared to traditional pond systems or RAS due to the controlled environment, optimal use of water-spread volume, and efficient water treatment. This can lead to faster growth rates and increased production.Biosecurity and Disease Management: While CRRAS systems are closed to the external environment as the total unit is greenhouse-based, biosecurity measures are still implemented to prevent disease outbreaks. Reservoir cum sedimentation ponds, if necessary, as in desert climates, quarantine protocols, health assessments, and water treatment strategies are followed to maintain a healthy aquatic population.Hybrid Systems: In some cases, CRRAS may be integrated with other aquaculture systems, such as individual or inbuilt (as in CRRAS) nursery sections, closed RAS, or aquaponics, to optimize resource utilization and diversify production.Research and Innovation: Ongoing research and innovation continue to advance the technology of CRRAS, resulting in improved water treatment processes, energy efficiency, state-of-the-art AI-IoT system integration, and overall system performance.Scalable and Environmental Sustainability: The CRRAS systems aim to reduce the environmental impact of aquaculture by minimizing water usage and nutrient pollution. They can be designed to recycle water and minimize the discharge of effluent into the surrounding environment. CRRAS designed aquaculture systems are infinitely scalable. There are no environmental limitations to the size of the intended fish farm to be built because waste streams are controllable in environmentally sustainable ways. CRRAS offers a high degree of environmental control. This not only mitigates the risks of outdoor aquaculture (natural disaster, pollution, and disease) but also allows for optimized species growth on a year-round basis.
